NY Metro Super Lawyers Nominations Being Accepted

New York Metro Super Lawyers Nominations

Nominations are currently being accepted for NY Metro Super Lawyers. Now is the perfect opportunity to recognize your colleagues. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. This multi-phased selection process consists of independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. NY Metro Super Lawyers is an exclusive group. No more than 5% of attorneys from the New York metropolitan are selected. Super Lawyers is also published as a special section in leading city and regional magazines across the country. To nominate someone, please go to https://www.superlawyers.com. This will take you to the login page. If you already have an account with Super Lawyers, then enter your login information. If you need to set up an account, go to https://my.superlawyers.com/index.html and click on “First time user? Click here to request access.” Once you log in, click on the “Nominate Your Peers” button. On the form, you may nominate up to 21 attorneys — seven attorneys inside the firm, seven attorneys outside the firm and seven Rising Stars. To be eligible for a Rising Stars nomination, the attorney must be 40 years old or younger or have been licensed for 10 years or less. Rising Stars is an even more exclusive group, with no more than 2.5% of all young attorneys selected to the list. Nominees can be colleagues, co-counsel or opposing counsel. (Self-nominations are not allowed.) If you wish to nominate someone outside the firm, please let them know beforehand, but do not “campaign” or solicit them for your nominations; such nominations may be disregarded by Super Lawyers and lead to disqualification. Be sure to base your nominations on first-hand knowledge of that attorney rather than his/her reputation. The nominee can be opposing counsel, co-counsel or someone you have observed in court or during a transaction. Remember: you can nominate no more than seven attorneys inside the firm, seven attorneys outside the firm and seven Rising Stars. In-firm nominations are counted only if an equal or greater amount of lawyers outside your firm are nominated. For example, if four attorneys inside your firm are being nominated, you must nominate four or more attorneys outside your firm. Super Lawyers only accepts nominations for attorneys in private practice. In-house counsel, prosecutors, public defenders, non-practicing law professors are not eligible. Nominations will be accepted until February 19. All nominations will remain confidential.
